Kathmandu-Press Chautari Nepal Sindhupalchok Branch has handed over Rs. 1.1 million to the family of journalist Nani Ram Nepal. A cheque equivalent to the amount was handed over to the family on Saturday on the 45th day of demise of journalist Nepal.

Press Center Nepal Sindhupalchowk and CPN (UML) Balefi Rural Municipality Committee also handed over donations to the family. Similarly, Dambar Rasik Bharti handed over Rs. 20,000 on behalf of Radio Melamchi.

On the occasion, CPN (UML) leaders Arun Nepal, Saresh Nepal, Balefi Chair Kedar Chhetri, Barhabise Municipality Mayor Nimfunjo Sherpa and others expressed grief and pledged to be ready to help the family in times of distress.

The joint secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists and Chautari Sindhupalchok branch, Nepal passed away at the age of 31 on November 18.
